Candle Holder Extraordinaire

It seems that in my evercreating mind I have been dreaming up something to use as a candle holder.  Of course, I want something that has never been done & that is whimsey/wonderful always.
So one morning while in the garage looking for twinkle lights, I saw this forgotten Coke clock stashed in a bucket. Oh, happy day! It hit me!! (not the clock - the idea for the candle holder)
After sanding & deglazing the clock - I painted it black & gave it a face uplift.
The result being the old world whimsey that
I adore.

A creation always calls
for an extention of the project
so I then embellished the candles -
dressing them in vintage sheet music
 & old ruffled crape paper
& accented with a paper flower.
Can't wait to finish the tablescape
Placemats next
Luncheon next week!!
Note to all candles in the castle:
 watch out!
you might bee made new & fresh!

As thoughts turn to...
life under the pergola
I moved this Smith & Hawkins garden table
(miss that store)
from the potting shed to the skirts
of the pergola  &
embellishment & layering
 was involved.

this "flower" arrangement can't blow away
& doesn't need watering!!
The spoons, however, are very handy for digging &
making mud pies!

Old rake & other oldness become card holders & fun abound!

Miss Beatrix Potter weighted in yesterday at
 2 lbs 9 oz
since I made this visual aid,
she gets it more!

Sweet Friend, "Can you have lunch today?"
Me, "Why don't you just come over for lunch?"
After ordering Amelia's Trio via iphone
Favorites - ready set dial
Yummy food, but in ugly plastic containers
regroup to wonderful spring dishes
(black & white check enameled)
just in case we want to eat outside under the pergola, but too windy
garnish with fresh herbs from my garden
dine at antique barley table with
magic tabletop vingette
say a prayer of thanksgiving for
many blessings & friendships
a perfect visit with a dear friend

A friend over for lunch & a sweet gift
to remind me:

Make new friends & keep the old
One is silver &
the other gold.

Isn't it grand that after all these years we love the same things?
Must have been something in the red punch at Vacation Bible School in the 50's!!

What a happy day!
Good friends arrived in black heels & black boots
to be greeted by a toy John Deer Tractor!
The theme was elegance a la wonderful...
After a delightful lunch that ended with
Pioneer Women's Key Lime Pie - YUM
We friends two stepped into the French Salon for book reviewing of
Black Heels to Tractor Wheels
 by Ree Drummond
The delightful read is a sweet love story with some very funny events.
It's a Must Read
We all want to bee friends with Ree - as she is creative, funny, & grounded.
Thank you to my dear friends for putting together the book review extraordinaire.
(that I thought would be a great idea)
Voila! - good job!
