so often I do need a cake

or a centerpiece to take to

a birthday lunch 

for a friend

(i usually take a repurposed candelabra)

which by the way is always magically embellished

as i have always seen things differently

or in a new light ---

this old angelfood cake pan

needed a new life

 i painted the inside of the pan to look like cake

with a lemon layer

this can hold cards, party favors or little presents

i'm thinking that some birthday party blowers 

need to come out of the center

 the outside -  faux icing

happy birthday

& happy anniversary

or just 

oh, happy day!

oh, so true!

desk cleaning day

 after cleaning some of my ink pens

it was time to clean the desk

 cleaning or clearing?

doesn't look like either

but it is

oh, so magical!

this is a tower of

the magic that

this Angelgirl made me a grandmother (BB) for the first time

from the moment she came into this world

she captured our hearts

she added the magic & wonder of a child truly blessed

with loving, brave & devoted parents

with beauty, kindness, and an imagination 

on this mother's day 

she is performing in
Vicenza, Italy 

 her first musical - The Little Mermaid

the youngest of a cast of 8 - 18 yrs olds

added to her charm

she has confidence & talent for the arts

singing her way through each day 

spreading joy wherever she goes

in song & words

how I love her

she is so much like her mothermydaughter

& on this day I send my love to them

with the arrival of my Lil Cuz

we took our childhood portraits

(which my Daddy took)

& well, we brought them out of

lonely storage & made them

happy, creative & magical!

just like us!

we're the best &

modest too.

the love of chandeliers 

has always been a joy to me

 we have them in every room

no ceiling fans in this old castle

 it seems that i need to embellish

even the most ornate fixture

 adding magic 

in unexpected places

 walking & living 

in the light

 if i had one more place to put

set on a chippy metal ladder

housed old office supplies

which I have always collected

& used for their intended use

& also for inspiration & 

for the love of old

pearls everyday

i wear pearls everyday

even with my paint clothes 

i have on pearls

of some sort

some vintage, some very real,

some fun, some mixed 

they feel good - they are classy -

and always appropriate

the story of 

a sweet little chair

 my Lil Cuz & I found this bedroom chair

while antiquing after Christmas

i wanted her to get it, but she didn't

& I couldn't leave it behind!

heavy, well made & in need

of some magic!

perfect for the morning room

 added black polka dots 

a needed update

 a needlepoint pillow of cherries &

a bee happy reminder pillow &&&

a black & white checked ribbon

the ribbon had wire, which didn't work 

so I pulled out the wire & painted the

checks to look like an artist that I admire

with a little more magic added 

to the side - a burlap flower with vintage pin 

this is art

 artistic happiness

i do love it so

it has a happy home in our

old world whimsical castle!
